Outstanding Cameo of Woman Pendant&Brooch c1860

The quality of this pendant brooch is superb. The profile of the Roman noblewoman is masterfully carved from shell. The conforming oval frame with 8 natural pearls heightens the power of the cameo within. The setting is remarkable. Note the arrow shape of the pin hood and the overall strength of the setting (esp. obvious from the reverse). Set in 18K gold. Measures 1-3/16 inch long (w/ bale) and 1-1/8 inch wide.
