15K British Brooch circa 1890

Although relatively small (1.75 inch long) the design of this brooch engages the eye. In the center there's a raised oval with one diamond flanked by two rubies. The raised sides of the oval reflect the raised gold dots on either side. The ends carry a foliate design in relief that echos the engraved patterns around the stones. To top it off the entire brooch has a delicate roping. The gold has a warm color. Marks on the reverse are, on the right side inside hexagonal stamps: 15, 625, anchor, blank shield. On the left side: M and R (likely the maker). In excellent, gift appropriate condition.
